NOEL SALAS RAVEN REVIEW: A NEW MODEL BY DION AGIUS
Well... what can we say that hasn't already been mentioned about the RAVEN!?
Out of his grading system of eight varying attributes of how a board rides (ie. Flex/Feel, Flow, Speed, Rail To Rail, User Friendliness, Paddling, Carving, Pocket Surfing), Surf 'n Show's Noel Salas gave Dion's latest model between 3.5 to 5 stars across all categories - with an adrenal amping 5 OUT OF 5 for carve ability!
And this is exactly what the RAVEN was designed for. Full throttle, on-rail, 90's style power-carving.
A brief explanation comes down to the curved rocker placed throughout the board; allowing for everyone from the intermediate to experienced surfer to drive through their turns. A low-medium rockerline allows for ease of paddling with the ability to pick up speed in an instant, whilst a medium tail rocker transitioning into a swallow tail produces a tighter carve line.
But dont just take our word for it... watch the video (below) of Mr Salas taking apart wave-after-wave on a stock 5'8" x 18 3/4 x 2 1/4 (25.24L) whilst giving an honest rundown of how the model works:
